Fireworks and Pets
Information provided by Companion Care Vets, Northampton, UK
You can draw the curtains turn the TV up and all humans in the house try not to show any reactions to the pops and bangs. Let your pet go where they want they will soon settle, try not to keep fussing and telling them it will be ok as this re enforcing any fears.
Or
If your pet is terrified then all of the above and pop to see us for some zylkene capsules. These are great as a quick fix, they help to calm you pet and banish anxiety.
Also
Adaptil or feliway plug ins or sprays
A natural pheromone that your pets mother would of given off, so it will help calm the most anxious of pets and keeps them nicely balanced.
The adaptil (dogs) also comes in a collar form so where ever your dog may go that pheromone will be with them 24/7.

great tips! I hope the best for all pets who have to bear such a boom&bang fest, hope no one runs away with fear :o(
Very interesting. We find staying in and not looking outside is a great end to Halloween.

Always a scary time for pets..it hurts their ears so much..great advice guys 🙂 loves Fozziemum xxx
Fireworks are messy, noisy, and MEAN for kitty ears!!! I run and hide when I hear them which – thank heavens – is usually only twice a year….July 4 and New Years!
Hugs, Sammy
Sofie wears her thunder vest. TV turned up loud and lots of cuddles to distract. We hate fireworks around here!!! Even Louise gets blue.
For some odd reason Feliaway does not work on Nylablue….sighs….
Thankfully she does not frighten easily!
