Rain Rain go away

When are Mum and Dad going to finish building us that Ark?
It must have been raining for 40 days and nights by now, yet no sign of it.
It’s Oscar here, by the way. And I hate the rain.
I tell you what, it’s everywhere as well. Sometimes when I go to the back door and it’s raining I don’t like to go out, so I go to the front door and ask to go out there. And do you know? It’s only blooming raining out there as well!
When I do get stuck outside in the rain I like to stay as dry as possible. Under the bench is good, under the car better. But the best place is to squeeze down the passage at the side of the house and wait it out.
Mum and Dad are always shocked when I come in dry as a bone after a good downpour.
My brothers aren’t that clever though.
Henry – there is something wrong with that one – will run about playing in the rain. He’s like a feline Gene Kelly on catnip!
Archie can’t wait to get back in the house, so he won’t take a step out of sight of the door. Unfortunately that means he won’t go near anywhere sheltered. Poor soggy moggy!
There is one other thing about this Ark business though. I hear they only take two of each animal on board… and we’re all boys.
Oh, no! The three moggies could be split up!
Still, if it does happen I hope they choose me… and that purrrrr-fact looking tabby from across the road.
