February 2014 Fur Friend of the Month – Texas
Have you met our very old pal Texas? if so how much do you know about him? lets have a chat with him
Hi Texas Thank you for taking the time out to hang out with us today purrrrrr
how did you come by the name?
When my human first saw me and started interacting with me, she noticed at once that I had a lot of character. I was a nice kitten but no human should try and mess with me! Plus the lady working where my human got me told her I was “the little wrestler in the gang” of cats she had. The character, playfulness and kindness all together got me the name Texas less than 5 minutes after I adopted her. It took the humans longer to find Kitshka’s name!
How old are you?
I’ll be 8 in April.
How did you come to your fur ever home?
Well, one day, 3 days before her birthday, my human and her then boyfriend (now husband) were walking on the bank of the Seine in Paris where the pet shops are (near Chatelet). Now my human cannot come close to kitties without stopping to interact with them. So they both entered in the pet shop I was in. I noticed her and I chose to go home with her. Actually, I was my human’s birthday present from her boyfriend. Or so I like to let them think!
Now I know some do not think well of pet shops, but what if she had never entered this pet shop?! We would never have found each other! And my human says I am her forever kitty and well, I might not be satisfied with her availabilty to help me blog, she is my forever human too. So? I plan to write a blog post about that, that is if my human helps me…
You have siblings 🙂 do you have advise to anyone else thinking of having multi cats?
Hmmm… I would say that it depends on the character of the kitty. Some get along well with siblings, others don’t. To this day, Milou hisses at me. He hissed at Kitshka for several months but now they are happily playing together.
It helps also to have siblings if the humans are working all day, so that you can have a furriend to play or cuddle with.
Who is your super hero?
I am my own super hero. Why, yes it’s true!
What is your favourite treat?
Warm roasted chicken.
You have travelled a bit in recent years. Any advise to moggies that are moving home?
It helps to have something with your human’s odor or from your former home. For example, when we moved to Texas, Kitshka freaked out in the first two days in our new home. She was scared of everything (even me), sleeping in the sink and all. Well, it changed completely when the humans’ furniture and boxes arrived. She relaxed because she could smell the familiar odor of home =^.^= We have to feel that home is not far away.
Thank YOU for being my furriends!
