Not such a Merry Cat-Mass
Hi, it’s Henry here – I’m writing today’s blog as we’re two moggies down!
What a Cat-mass that was; poor Archie and Oscar have been in and out of the scary surgery all over the big people’s holidays.
The pair of them are recovering now, but it’s been quite a few days.
Oscar’s face has healed up beautifully, but an old condition from when he contracted cat flu as a kitten has come back, and he has bronchitis.
He had to go to the vet on Christmas Eve, and is now on more steroids than Ben Johnson in 1987.
No sooner than Oscar had came back from the vet, then Mum and Dad noticed that Archie’s eye had gone really weird.
Regular readers will know that Archie had an ulcer on his left eye and needed an operation in the last week. On Xmas Eve, the pupil on the same eye had gone really big, while the other one remained a normal size.
It turns out he has a condition called anisocoria, which can be caused by ulcers.
So it was a festive Christmas Day visit to the emergency vet.
The good news is that the ulcer is all healed up, but today he went to the normal vet again and it turns out his eye had haemorrhaged and he may have damage to the retina.
It could have been caused by hypertension from stress from the operation and his other treatment.
Poor old boy!
So, he’s now on pills, and can’t see out of his eye at the moment.
In fact, it is a 50/50 on whether he will be able to see out of the eye again properly π¦
So, not the merriest Cat-mass, but hopefully everyone is on the road to recovery now.
Oh, and I’m all good so I’ve got to play with all the new catnip toys on my own!
More of that later this week…

Wishing my friends all the best and a good recovery! Bowie says “Meow!”
We send lots of healing prayers to you! Me-Ommmm
Oh my Oscar and Archie are still having poor luck in the health department.
Your pawrents must be besides themselves.
We can say that one of our Angels, Ming the Merciless, had one eye and was quite the huntress. She actually ran away and lived for two years in the wild as Dad thought the had an incident with an auto. Imagine his surprise to find out she was living in an old truck at the back of the property.
Yes she was something
Purrs that the New Year is better

My goodness! You boys (and your parents) have certainly had quite a tough holiday season this year…….I’m so sorry too because you should have been able to relax and enjoy just being together – NOT in and out of the vet emergency room!!! I hope Archie’s eye will get better and he won’t lose sight in it BUT cats are amazingly adaptive creatures and I’m sure whatever comes his way, Archie will handle it!! As for Oscar – poor guy no sooner is better than he gets bronchitis – what’s going on at the Moggie Residence for heavens’ sake???!!! I’m sure your parents would appreciate it if the three of you would just GET WELL AND STAY WELL……….everybody needs a break for the new year!
Hugs, Sammy

My goodness! When it rains it pours over there! It’s a good thing they have you, H, to hold down the fort and play with all the new toys. It’s a dirty job, but somebody has to do it. Best wishes for a speedy recovery for your brothers. they remain in our prayers.
Love and licks,
Cupcake
OMC, you poor guys!! Me and Hammy send our purrs to you both and to your humans, what a stressful time it must be π¦
At least you get all the cat nip toys to yourself! I’m so sorry to hear that your bro-furs are sick. I will be praying for them and Cinco and Manna will be purring. That is really hard -especially at this time of year. Make sure you give your humans lots of loving to help them get through this. I’m sure it is hard on them too.
I hope you’re all feeling better today (it’s Caturday and I’m back again!!!)…..wanted to tell you that I nominated you for a new award (Texas started a brand new one!!) and if you visit me today you can see it!!

What a scary holiday for you all. Poor boys. Mommy says to give them some kisses and snuggles for her. All of us are sending oodles or prayers and adding the boys to our 24/7 purr-a-thon. One of our angels, Madison, had damage to one eye (from what we don’t know) when he adopted us, and the vet never knew if he had vision in that eye or not, but he managed just fine. Still and all, we pray for Archie’s full recovery. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
All paws crossed for O. and A. for a speedy recovery. Let the humans spoil you rotten!
Oh I am so sorry to read that your Christmas wasn’t really fun. I hope Oscar and Archie heal completely and 2014 is better than the end of 2013! Please keep us posted.
Sending many purrs
Thanks TKM xx Happy New Year purrrrr
Not the best Christmas by the sounds of it, hope everyone is now well on the road to recovery and 2014 is a better year for you three!
