Here I am the first day at my forever home.

I love the park, especially when Mom puts me on the baby swing.

Here I am, ready to do my therapy work at Read to a Pet Night at the public library. Sometimes I also work at the Veteran’s Home.

Cuteness overload just then 🙂

How did you get the cute name?

As soon as Mom saw me, she named me Cupcake because I am so sweet. She is really very perceptive!

How did you come to your furever home?

When Mom had to send her old dog Smoki to the rainbow bridge after 16 years, she wanted another dog immediately. She looked online and visited shelters and prayed she’d find the perfect dog. She met a few possible dogs, but they just didn’t feel right. Exactly a week after she lost Smoki, she came to an adoption event. I was there with my foster Mom, a couple of foster brothers and sisters, and a ton of other dogs trying to find homes. I had been trying to get adopted for about 4 months, since I came from a high-kill shelter down south. Mom saw me in the 3rd cage and said I was cute, but she kept walking. In a few minutes she came back and read the paper that told about me. Then she said the word, “Too old.” and walked away again. She came back a few minutes later and took me out of the cage. Then she said the word, “Too small.” and she was gone again. The next time she came back, my foster mom told her I had puppies that had already been adopted. Mom said the word, “Oh.” and *gulp* and off she went again. The last time she came back, she looked at me and looked at me and said, “This is my new dog! I’m taking her home. She’s all wrong, but she’s absolutely PERFECT!!”

Do you live with other Fur friends? if so who are they and how do you get on with them

I am the only pet here. We used to have a turtle named Leave-the-Turtle-Alone, but he is gone now.

Your favourite treat?

I will pretty much eat ANYTHING, both poisonous and non-poisonous. Mom is careful of my weight, so she mostly gives me MilkBone Mini treats, and makes me a frozen yogurt Popsicle with honey, banana, and peanut butter.

Your super hero

Lassie is my super hero. She was SO smart and SO brave. I am afraid of a lot of things, and my brain is kind of tiny. I make up for all of this with my cuteness, though…

Do you go on holiday if so where?

I have never been on a real vacation, but I have visited some of Mom’s friends and stayed in a hotel once when our house was being painted.

What is your motto

My motto is a quotation by Anatole France – “I prefer the folly of enthusiasm to the indifference of wisdom.” What’s better than doggie enthusiasm? Nothing! That’s what!
