Oscar The Hunter in ‘Why mouse tastes like chicken’
There’s nothing quite like your first mouse…
Today we recall the day Oscar became a fully fledged hunter – from two very different perspectives.
What Mum and Dad saw
So, we’re chilling out in the kitchen, dinner in the oven and the new kittens safely outside enjoying playing in their new garden.
We haven’t seen Oscar for a while, but it’s not a problem because he’s always wondering off.
And then, somewhere in the distance, comes a familiar scream. Only cats with some sort of Siamese in them can make the noise Oscar creates.
Whether he’s chatting, asking to go out, or after attention he’s always two things: loud and persistent.
Oscar has been known to sit outside the door shouting for over an hour; with barely a pause for breath!
But this time there was something different about it – he seemed somehow pleased with himself.
And as our sleek new puss leapt over the fence we found out why; Oscar had caught his first mouse. And he was bringing the poor creature home for us to see.
Well, cut a long story short, we wrestled the little thing from him and then it was praise, praise, praise for our brave boy.
We were so pleased for him we even gave him a bit of chicken from our dinner.
He didn’t half lick his chops…
What Oscar saw
What’s that. A mouse, a mouse. Come here, I’ve got ya, yes! Oscar strikes.
A bit of playtime, go on mouse escape. No, I’ve got your tail.
Escape, no I’ll bash you with this other paw.
Ha, ha! Who’s the hunter, who’s the hunter… I’m the hunter!
Quick better go and show Mum and Dad. Here I come…
Hey, hey, you two, look at this. Mouse for dinner.
Oi, what are you doing. Why did you take my mouse? What’s going on? Oooh, strokes, thanks; purrrrr, purrrr…
Sniff, sniff, what’s that smell. Yummy, are you cooking my mouse?
Yes, yes, you must be. Here comes dinner.
Yum! Yum! I’m the provider. Yum! Purrrrrrr…
Funny how mouse tastes like chicken…
